Green and Resilient Cities
PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Significant improvement in the integrated climate-resilient, low-carbon, and nature-positive urban development of cities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to support integrated, low-carbon, climate-resilient, and nature-positive urban development. It focuses on removing key policy, regulatory, financial, technical, and capacity barriers through four components: strengthening policy and coordination, mobilizing finance, implementing 10 pilot investment demonstrations, and building technical capacity while encouraging behavioral change.

The project promotes gender equality and inclusion of vulnerable groups, including informal settlers. Expected results include restored land and ecosystems, new green spaces, reduced GHG emissions, and benefits for more than 8 million people. Lessons learned and knowledge products will be shared with other Philippine cities and countries participating in the Sustainable Cities Integrated Program.
