Asia Clean Energy Forum 2024

The Asian Development Bank (ADB), along with its co-organizers the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Korea Energy Agency (KEA), is delighted to invite clean energy practitioners from across the region—including government agencies, private sector, equipment and service providers, financiers, philanthropic organizations, researchers, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders—to join the 19th edition of the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2024 in Manila to be held during 3–7 June 2024. The theme of this year’s ACEF is “Accelerating the Clean Energy Transition and Ensuring Energy Security and Affordability – Time for Urgent Action Now”.

Net Zero 101 Media Training

At a time when more businesses in the Philippines are claiming that they are prioritising sustainability and shifting towards net zero, the role of media as storytellers and scrutineers has never been more critical. The rapidly evolving business and policy landscape is changing what it means to be sustainable, which, in turn, is influencing how investors and key stakeholders view environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations. This will affect how ESG-focused news is perceived. With scientists worldwide agreeing that the planet must reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050 to stay within the 1.5-degree Celsius threshold, the media needs to develop subject matter expertise to critically and analytically report on the topic in a way that has impact. 2nd methane leadership program

The ASEAN Energy Sector Methane Leadership Program (MLP) is an 18-month regional initiative focused on driving effective methane emission management in the ASEAN oil and gas industry in support of the Global Methane Pledge 2030 through regional collaboration, technology transfer, networking, knowledge sharing, and capacity building. The USAID Southeast Asia’s Smart Power Program (SPP) designed this masterclass in close collaboration with PETRONAS, ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE), ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and partners to the MLP. In this by-invitation only event, courses will be delivered by subject matter experts from the Carbon Limits on behalf of the UNEP training program.

Climate Action Hub at APFSD11

Climate Action Hub at APFSD11 (21 and 23 February 2024) Given that SDG 13 on Climate Action is one of the Sustainable Development Goals under review at the 2024 High-Level Political Forum, ESCAP and the members of the UN Issues-Based Coalition on Raising Climate Ambition are organising a Climate Action Hub taking place during the 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) in the United Nations Conference Centre from Wednesday 21 February 2024 - Friday 23 February 2024.
