Indonesia is established as an actor in international cooperation on decentralized renewable energy systems
Capacities of coal regions in the global south to develop and implement JET plans are strengthened through policy dialogues, peer to peer learning and targeted support.
NZMATES is here to support the development of a vibrant renewable energy sector in Maluku. In partnership with the Indonesian government (EBTKE and PLN) NZMATES will help deliver long-lasting, reliable, and affordable renewable energy project to the people of Maluku Province.
NZMATES activities include carrying out field surveys, resources and techno-economic assessments, delivery model development, participatory community engagement, leveraging funds, capacity building and forging partnerships to kick-start the uptake of renewables.
This paper is an update of a 2017 publication written for the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) in Viet Nam on a Socially Just Energy Transition in Viet Nam. This energy transition must deliver a large part of Viet Nam’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions mitigation, provide access to clean energy for all, and create opportunities for decent jobs and micro-businesses for the rural poor, women and ethnic minorities.
In a collaborative approach, decarbonization is being driven forward in the partner countries and Germany as well as strengthen the energy supply.
H2Uppp promotes green H2/ PtX projects in developing and emerging (ODA) countries with the main objective to further develop markets for green H2/ PtX technologies through on-site cooperation. With the expertise from German and European companies, the programme will provide market expertise for green H2 in relevant sectors, mobilising company networks, provision of know-how for market exploration and market entry. The overall goal of the project is to support the development of H2/ PtX markets, strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of the private sector in related industries and to enable knowledge transfer around green H2/ PtX to private and public sector stakeholders in the region.
The energy partnership cooperation between Denmark and Vietnam started in 2013 with the purpose of strengthening Vietnam’s transition to a low-carbon economy. The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) and the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) are the key actors of this partnership. At present, the DEPP is in the third phase (DEPP III)
Countries exploring ways to ramp up solar and wind energy on their power grids should first conduct thorough flexibility assessments. The IRENA FlexTool performs power system flexibility assessments based on national capacity investment plans and forecasts.
FlexTool assessments reflect full power system dispatch and offer a detailed view of options for flexible generation, demand-side flexibility and energy storage, alongside sector-coupling technologies such as power-to-heat, electric vehicles and hydrogen production through electrolysis.
The freely accessible, user-friendly FlexTool can analyse system operations using a time resolution aligned with real-world system challenges – a resolution of an hour or less in the case of variable renewable energy sources. It also provides least-cost optimisation of the generation mix combined with flexibility solutions for the grid, storage, demand-side response and sector coupling.
Inform the output on guidelines for the procurement of ancillary service (AS) based experiences from other countries.
New Energy Nexus Southeast Asia (Nexus SEA) supports entrepreneurs who are powering the thousands of businesses, technologies, and innovations needed to open up the economic and social opportunities of a clean energy future.
