Piloting Electric Vehicle Systems and Developing a Green Transportation Investment Roadmap for Bali, Indonesia
PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The project aims to support the following objectives to align with the Government of Indonesia’s strategic priorities to stimulate investments, accelerate e-mobility, and achieve the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets. – Support the Government of Indonesia to enable policy, finance, and roll-out investment projects as part of a green transportation system. – Introduce electric vehicles to promote the transition to eco-friendly vehicles supporting Indonesia’s carbon neutrality goals. – Design and deployment of infrastructure for e-buses and charging stations via a pilot program in Bali Province.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Government of Indonesia has ambitious plans to expand the use of electric vehicles (EV) and shift the transportation sector toward a low-carbon development path. Bali is one of the key provinces that will kickstart the EV revolution, and the province has already issued enabling policies and regulations to incentivize greater investment. The project aims to accelerate Indonesia’s transition to electric vehicles (EV) and contribute to the country’s climate change targets. As one key component, the project will provide a pilot project in Bali Province, which will support accelerating the full-scale implementation of an inclusive e-mobility ecosystem in Indonesia.
