PROJECT OBJECTIVE

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the “KfW Business Opportunities” on issue number 201468032.

2. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam has received a loan from the KfW toward the cost of Efficient power grids in small and medium- sized cities project - Phase 1, Loan Agreement signed on October 10, 2016 between KfW and Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract on this Project. The Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) (“the Purchaser”) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply of materials and equipment of the following packages for the Projects “Project Efficient Power Grids in Small and Medium-Sized Cities – Phase 1” which will be built in Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Quang Binh, Binh Dinh provinces and Da Nang city in central region of Viet Nam

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

1. Reduce energy losses in the grid by one fifth and reduce outages by an average of 15%. As a result, less coal and other fossil fuels will be used to generate electricity and around 200,000 tonnes of CO2 and other emissions will be avoided each year. 
2. Electricity grids are intelligently regulated and controlled contribute to stabilizing the grid and ensure the security of supply.
