Regional Strengthening Legal Readiness for Sustainable and Low-Carbon Energy Transition in Asia and the Pacific
PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The project aims to strengthen low-carbon development and climate-resilient transformation (Strategy 2030 Midterm Review) and to improve regional cooperation and energy market integration (ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation 2016-2025) in participating DMCs.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The multiregional technical assistance (TA) will strengthen legal readiness for sustainable and low-carbon energy transition in selected developing member countries (DMCs). The TA will address legal and regulatory barriers that constrain regional energy market integration, carbon markets development, and safe disposal and management of renewable energy waste. These interventions are critical to enabling private sector participation and improving environmental sustainability.
