PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In the southern part of Viet Nam, the demand for electric power has been growing remarkably due to high economic growth since 2007, and the supply and demand of electric power is tightening. In particular, in the southern region, where many Japanese companies have established operations, the lack of power infrastructure has had a significant negative impact on economic and social activities, and the development of power sources to meet industrial demand has become an urgent issue. Under this cooperation, Japan will support the Danim Hydroelectric Power Plant, with which Japan has continuously cooperated since 1959, by providing an additional 80 megawatts of hydroelectric equipment, constructing a water conduit tunnel, and procuring hydroelectric and civil engineering equipment. This will improve the electricity supply capacity in the southern part of the country and contribute to promoting economic growth and strengthening international competitiveness in the region.
