PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In 2013, Thailand’s transport sector was responsible for 19% of national GHG emissions, with 97% of those emissions coming from road transport reliant on fossil fuels. The Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Roadmap 2021–2030 sets a mitigation target of 41 MtCO2e for the transport sector. To meet this goal, the Thai government is promoting electric mobility as a solution to reduce GHG and particulate emissions, in parallel with decarbonizing the electricity grid and supporting economic growth.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The project focuses on promoting electric vehicles (EVs), a key electrification measure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels. Learn more here: https://open.unido.org/projects/TH/projects/180285
