Accelerating the adoption and life-cycle solutions to electric mobility in Thailand
PROJECT OBJECTIVE

To reduce GHG emissions from Thailand’s transport sector by removing barriers to electric mobility adoption and scaling up its implementation.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In 2013, Thailand’s transport sector was responsible for 19% of national GHG emissions, with 97% of those emissions coming from road transport reliant on fossil fuels. The Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Roadmap 2021–2030 sets a mitigation target of 41 MtCO2e for the transport sector. To meet this goal, the Thai government is promoting electric mobility as a solution to reduce GHG and particulate emissions, in parallel with decarbonizing the electricity grid and supporting economic growth.
