PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Indonesia’s growing number of fossil fuel-powered vehicles—150 million as of 2022—makes transport the second-largest source of energy sector GHG emissions, contributing to air and noise pollution. Presidential Regulation No. 55/2019 supports the shift to electric vehicles (EVs), but BEV adoption remains limited, and the supporting ecosystem—policies, infrastructure, operators, and users—needs strengthening.
The ENTREV project aims to support Indonesia’s transition to electric mobility by enhancing policy and institutional readiness and piloting innovative business models for two- and four-wheeler BEVs. Key activities include developing national BEV strategies, piloting charging and battery swap stations in Jakarta, West Java, and Bali, and promoting EV knowledge, training, and battery management standards.
By the end of four years, ENTREV aims to reduce GHG emissions by 473,800 tCO2 directly and 6.1 million tCO2 indirectly over the following decade.
