Thai Binh Power Plant and Transmission Line Construction Project (3)
PROJECT OBJECTIVE

This project supports the construction of two 300 MW coal-fired thermal power plants and related infrastructure in Thai Binh Province to address electricity shortages in northern Viet Nam. It aims to stabilize power supply amid rising demand driven by economic growth, particularly around Hanoi.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In Viet Nam, demand for electricity continues to increase along with economic growth, and demand is expected to continue increasing in the future. In response, the 7th National Power Master Plan plans to develop a total of approximately 50,000 megawatts of new power sources from 2011 to 2020 in order to meet the ever-increasing demand for electricity. However, many power development investment plans have been delayed due to lack of funds, making the power supply and demand balance even tighter. This cooperation (Phase 4) will continue with the construction of two 300 MW thermal power plants within the Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant Center in Thai Binh Province that will use coal produced in the same region as fuel, as well as power transmission lines and related facilities in the surrounding area. We will support the maintenance of This will contribute to a stable supply of electricity to the rapidly developing northern region, including the capital Hanoi.
