ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP) Project Dates: January 2005 - June 2022

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Jointly implemented by ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and GIZ on behalf of Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), AGEP aims to support the ASEAN Member States in improving regional coordination for the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency towards sustainable energy for all.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The joint programme operates in three areas of action:

  • Providing concrete and regionally coordinated action strategies: This approach aims to strengthen the implementation of AMS measures to promote renewable energy, and energy efficiency and conservation through technical strategy and recommendations for action that are regionally harmonised.
  • Improving the regional technical exchange in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency and conservation: This approach aims to establish permanent technical cooperation and learning structure among the member states.
  • Strengthening capacity of ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE): This approach aims to support ACE in realising its vision as catalyst for the economic growth and integration of the ASEAN region by initiating and facilitating multilateral collaborations as well as joint and collective activities on energy.
