Expansion of Hoa Binh Hydropower plant Project Dates: January 2021 - January 2025

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The two main objectives of this project are : 1. Optimize hydropower to increase electricity production, and to improve the supply and stability of the electricity system. 2. Contribute to replacing fossil fuel production for an estimated 488 gigawatts per year, thus avoiding the release of some 225,000 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions into the atmosphere.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project consists of a capacity scale of 2 x 240MW units, with a total investment of more than VND 9,220 billion. Power generation progress of unit 1 is expected in June 2025; unit 2 is expected in July 2025; Completion of the project is expected in August 2025.
