Contribution to the Energy Transition in SE Asia

ERI plays a pivotal role in Thailand's energy transition through various initiatives:

  • Policy Research: ERI conducts research on energy and environmental issues, providing insights and recommendations to inform national energy policies and strategies. The institute's research addresses challenges such as energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and sustainable development.
  • Academic Services and Capacity Building: ERI offers academic services related to energy efficiency, conservation, and the promotion of clean and alternative energy sources. These services include training programs, workshops, and seminars aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of stakeholders involved in the energy sector.
  • Collaborative Projects: ERI collaborates with national and international organizations to explore pathways for Thailand's energy transition. For example, in partnership with TDRI and international experts, ERI has contributed to developing national long-term energy scenarios to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
  • Public Engagement: ERI actively participates in public forums and discussions to raise awareness about energy transition issues. The institute engages with various stakeholders, including policymakers, industry representatives, and the general public, to promote understanding and support for sustainable energy initiatives.
