Energy Sector Management Assistance Programme

ESMAP is a partnership between the World Bank and 22 partners to help low- and middle-income countries reduce poverty and boost growth through sustainable energy solutions. ESMAP’s analytical and advisory services are fully integrated within the World Bank’s country financing and policy dialogue in the energy sector. Through the World Bank Group (WBG), ESMAP works to accelerate the energy transition required to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.

ASEAN-UK Green Transition Fund

The Green Transition Fund (GTF) is a flagship ASEAN-UK climate change programme aimed to support ASEAN and ASEAN Member States (AMS) to accelerate the region’s green and climate-resilient economic growth This is a tailored climate mitigation programme for ASEAN which highlights the UK’s commitment to global climate action and sustainable development in ASEAN. It will encourage a just transition in energy, environment and financial sectors towards a more sustainable economy in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement and the climate and environment objectives of ASEAN, as encapsulated by the ASEAN-UK Plan of Action and ASEAN 2025: Forging Ahead Together.

Energy Transition Partnership - ETP UNOPS

The Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership is a multi-donor partnership comprising of government and philanthropic funders, working to accelerate sustainable energy transition in Southeast Asia, inline with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.

Offshore Wind Centre Of Excellence In Vietnam

The Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence (OSW CoE) is a national initiative that aims to create economic opportunities for Viet Nam through lowering the cost of energy from offshore wind. The CoE will be output-focused driving collaboration amongst industry experts and existing platforms to strengthen local capabilities in offshore wind development thereby reducing the cost and risk of the technology in Viet Nam.

C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF)

The C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF) addresses this gap between cities and finance by providing support to cities in developing and emerging economies to develop finance-ready projects. The CFF supports cities to develop financially sound business proposals for projects that they have identified as priorities and ensures that city administrations retain skills and structures to enable cities to prepare a pipeline of low carbon and climate resilient infrastructure projects.

ASEAN Low Carbon Energy Programme

It supports four broad types of activity: capacity building of government, institutions and business; policy reform of energy frameworks and standards; market development by strengthening connections between project developers and investors; raising awareness of available technologies to increase the uptake of energy efficient products and services; and partnership coordination and commercial ventures. All components of the programme aim to improve energy security and inclusive access to clean and reliable energy sources, with direct benefits for the most vulnerable populations, including women. The LCEP focuses on two topics – Green Finance (GF) and Energy Efficiency (EE). The Carbon Trust is leading the delivery of the EE component in five countries: Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Thailand Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (RAC NAMA)

RAC NAMA supports producers in bringing to the market new climate-friendly and energy efficient cooling products that comply with regulations in Thailand. Producers will receive technical support in the product design and financial support for investment in the setting up of production lines. The project supports training programmes for service staff and technicians to prepare for different safety challenges. The project offers support to responsible ministries and agencies to define safety standards and building code in line with international best practices. Technology Adoption The project demonstrates best practices of energy performance standards, labels and other incentive schemes. The project further works with commercial end-users such as supermarket chains and hotels, to develop projects that reduce energy consumption in the RAC sector
