Asia Low Carbon Buildings Transition Project (ALCBT)
The ALCBT aims to significantly reduce GHG emissions by catalyzing nationwide transitions towards LCB in the project countries. The project focuses on ensuring that technical, planning and institutional tools for LCB are successfully implemented and streamlined by key public and private stakeholders, resulting in direct emission reductions by 2028. – Standardized tools and systems for managing building carbon emissions – Enhanced capacity of key stakeholders to deliver low carbon buildings – Financial pathways established for low carbon buildings transition – Knowledge products produced to facilitate replication and scaling up

Deep decarbonization of Thai industries based on the emission trading system and carbon border adjustment mechanism

To support Thailand in effectively implementing a climate-just Net Zero National Pathway (NZNP), with a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the industry and building sectors through policy enhancement, capacity building, technology demonstration, and financial mechanisms.

PPG INET-ZERO

The project aims to develop a full-scale initiative—INET-ZERO—to accelerate GHG emission reductions and enhance nature-positive outcomes in Indonesia’s Energy and FOLU sectors. It promotes a systematic, integrated approach with UNDP and UNEP jointly supporting the implementation under their respective responsibilities.

Piloting Electric Vehicle Systems and Developing a Green Transportation Investment Roadmap for Bali, Indonesia
The project aims to support the following objectives to align with the Government of Indonesia’s strategic priorities to stimulate investments, accelerate e-mobility, and achieve the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets. – Support the Government of Indonesia to enable policy, finance, and roll-out investment projects as part of a green transportation system. – Introduce electric vehicles to promote the transition to eco-friendly vehicles supporting Indonesia’s carbon neutrality goals. – Design and deployment of infrastructure for e-buses and charging stations via a pilot program in Bali Province.

The ENTREV project aims to reduce GHG emissions in Indonesia’s transport sector by accelerating the adoption of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) through policy development, pilot infrastructure, and EV ecosystem strengthening. It supports long-term BEV market growth and cleaner transport nationwide.

Co-processing of cement industry in Vietnam

The regional project Ocean Plastic Turned into an Opportunity in Circular Economy – OPTOCE, which is funded by Norad and carried out by SINTEF, aims to investigate how the involvement of Energy Intensive Industries, like cement manufacturing, can increase the treatment capacity for Non-Recyclable Plastic Wastes in China, India, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam and thereby contribute to reduce the release of plastics to the Sea.

VN07 Accelerating Innovative Start-ups for Energy Efficiency (AIS4EE)
The project aims to improve energy efficiency, particularly in the industry, transportation, and green building sectors in Viet Nam, via increasing investments in innovative business solutions through start-ups, in alignment with VNEEP3 and the National Green Growth Strategy (VGGS). The main beneficiaries of the project are the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) as well as start-ups with energy efficiency solutions. Direct support is channeled to accelerate up to 30 start-ups (“product-market fit”) and youth groups (“idea-product fit”) with innovative business solutions on energy efficiency in target sectors. Moreover, training for lecturers and trainers in relevant academia fields will be rolled out.

Developing Private Sector Next-Generation Renewable Energy Opportunities in Southeast Asia

The technical assistance aims to support the identification, preparation, and processing of private sector renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia, focusing on countries such as Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, Viet Nam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It targets next-generation technologies including offshore wind, green hydrogen, tidal and wave energy, floating solar, energy storage, and smart grids. Activities include market analysis, client outreach, project screening, and funding preparation. The TA also aims to build ADB’s internal capacity, particularly within the Private Sector Operations Department, and promote collaboration through a One ADB approach across relevant departments and initiatives.
