PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The project aims to create a national inventory of potential large-scale hydropower projects using pumped storage and impounding hydropower technologies. It will also develop pre-feasibility studies for selected sites to support future bidding to private investors through the Open and Competitive Selection Process (OCSP).

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This is a JICA-supported technical cooperation implemented by REMB during 2025–2028. On 3 December 2025, DOE and JICA convened a Joint Coordination Committee meeting to discuss TCP workplans, key target timelines, and the creation of Working Groups 1, 2, and 3 to support project implementation.
