Support to the Philippine Energy Labelling Programme (PELP)

This programs aims to increase product coverage, conduct market studies, speed up labels adoption and setting Minimum Energy Performance for Products (MEPP)/Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS). It aslo performs a  review of the current labelling system, rationale uptake and consumer response.

Global Climate Partnership Fund

As an innovative public-private partnership, GCPF uses public funding to leverage private capital in order to mitigate climate change and drive sustainable growth in developing and emerging markets. GCPF mainly invests through local financial institutions but also directly. GCPF finances projects targeting small and medium-sized businesses and private households, specifically: Energy efficiency projects that reduce projected greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 20% Renewable energy generation projects

The Asia Low Carbon Buildings Transition (ALCBT)

Buildings and space cooling is the main driver for the growing future electricity demand and rising GHG emissions in Asia. The project addresses regulatory, capacity and financing gaps that prevent large scale adoption of low carbon buildings. The project will develop technical and institutional capacity for city/state governments. To transform existing and new buildings towards carbon neutrality by 2050, the project will focus on enhancing capacity to achieve regional and national ambition and targets for low carbon buildings, with policy recommendations. It will establish common metrics (taxonomy/MRV system) and central registry for certified buildings. Through building certification and business model innovation, the project will try to mobilize public and private finance. To raise awareness and promote replication locally and globally, the project will share best practises and showcase successes.

Sustainable Infrastructure Assistance Program Phase II - Innovative Infrastructure Financing, Infrastructure Planning, and Program Management Support (Subproject 1) - Supporting Formulation of Long and Medium Term Development Plan and Priority Investment for Energy Sector

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is seeking a consulting firm (Consultant) comprising a qualified team of international and national energy-sector expert consultants to assist the Government of Indonesia in a review and assessment of Indonesia’s energy sector development.

The aim is to support the government in

(i) the evaluation of key energy-related directions, pillars, and indicators of existing Long Term National Development Plan (RPJPN) 2005-2025 (RPJPN05) and Medium Term National Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024 (RPJMN20) and

(ii) the identification of energy

sector related directions, pillars and indicators to inform the RPJPN25 and RPJMN25.

Rural Electrification Project

The project preparatory technical assistance (PPTA) will conduct a feasibility study for the Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s supported Rural Electrification (RE) Project in Viet Nam, which should include:

 

(i) rationale/justification of the rural electrification project

(ii) assessments of the project sites proposed by the government

(iii) full feasibility study for the selected project sites

(iv) preparation of all project documents required by ADB for the investment of the project

Establishing the Wholesale Electricity Market

Improve the capacity and knwoledge of the Energy Sector Agency to operate effectively the VWEM mechanisms

 

The activities of the TA include

(i) Basic and advanced trainings on generic wholesale market mechanisms; (ii) Recommendation on new functions and critical requirements of Power Corporations and NLDC (SMO) for the VWEM

(iii) Review the current ICT infrastructure of Power Corporations and NLDC (SMO), and recommendation for upgrading ICT infrastructure for the VWEM.

Programme for Energy Efficiency in Building (PEEB)

The Programme for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (PEEB) aims to transform the building sector by promoting sustainable building design and construction. PEEB combines financing for energy efficiency in large-scale projects with technical assistance through policy advice. Programme for Energy Efficiency in Building seeks to: - Transform the buildings sector by promoting sustainable building design and construction. - Lower the energy demand in buildings in a cost-effective manner and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to a minimum level - Leverage untapped social, ecological and economic benefits PEEB combines financing for energy efficiency in large-scale projects with technical assistance through policy advice and expertise for building sector professionals. Financing for large-scale projects or financial incentive programmes can boost market development and reinforce regulation. By setting ambitious conditions for projects, financing ensures that policy standards are applied or exceeded, and knowledge is put into practice, and serve as a door-opener for higher policy ambition in NDCs and strategies.
