Energy Transition Support Program

This project supports the Philippines' energy transition by de-risking geothermal resources, developing offshore wind ports, advancing electrification, and improving energy efficiency in buildings. It also strengthens energy transition policies and boosts planning and management capacity for clean energy investments.

Advancing Energy Transition and Regional Power Trade in the Greater Mekong Subregion and Southeast Asia

The technical assistance (TA) aims to accelerate the energy transition and enhance regional power trade in select Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) and ASEAN countries under the ASEAN Power Grid (APG) initiative. It supports project preparation, knowledge sharing, and capacity development in Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Climate Change Action Program, Subprogram 2

Decarbonization of Hard-to-Abate Industrial and Maritime Sectors

The technical assistance (TA) supports developing member countries (DMCs) in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors while ensuring a just and inclusive transition aligned with the Paris Agreement. It focuses on regional cooperation, knowledge sharing, and accelerating transformation through sectoral assessments, business model development, policy dialogues, capacity building, and project pipeline development for investment.

Affordable and Sustainable Energy Transition Program, Subprogram 1

The Affordable and Sustainable Energy Transition Program supports Indonesia’s energy transition by helping achieve its NDC 2022 and net-zero emissions in the power sector by 2050 through policy reforms. It aligns with ADB’s energy policy and Strategy 2030 priorities, including climate action, gender equality, and governance strengthening. The program follows a staggered policy-based lending approach with multiple subprograms to ensure a phased and effective transition.

The technical assistance (TA) supports the development of diversified and responsible critical mineral (CM) and clean energy technology (CET) supply chains through knowledge solutions, policy dialogues, and capacity building for financing. It promotes regional integration, domestic value addition, and resilient supply chains, aligning with ADB's Climate Change Action Plan 2023-2030 and Strategy 2030.

Supporting Offshore Wind Port Development Planning

The project aims to advance offshore wind development in the Philippines by preparing prefeasibility studies for candidate offshore wind ports, identifying priority offshore wind sites and developing a comprehensive action plan, and enhancing the capacity for effective offshore wind port planning.

PT SMI Early Retirement Program

The project's objective is to enhance PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (PT SMI)'s institutional capacity, enabling it to design and establish systems to coordinate and implement a national just transition framework within the context of Indonesia's country platform on Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM). Additionally, it aims to expedite financing efforts for the Government of Indonesia’s energy transition initiatives.
