Renewable Energy Program (REP)

The REP will support a pipeline of sub-projects across various RE segments of the market with primary focus on solar and mini-hydro with an aggregate capacity of up to 200 MW. Implementation of these sub-projects will help attract private sector investments to climate-smart projects in Indonesia by demonstrating commercial viability of nascent and heretofore challenging segments, while facilitating market access to commercial financing.

January 2017 - December 2020
Vietnam Urban Energy Security

The USAID Vietnam Urban Energy Security project works closely with the Government of Vietnam (GVN) at the city, provincial, and national level to improve legislation related to clean energy; mobilize investment; and increase the adoption and deployment of innovative energy solutions. Three areas of focus :
(i) Improve policies and regulattions
(ii) Monilize public and private sector investment
(iii)Increase adoption of innovatie solutions

January 2019 - December 2023
Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program II (V-LEEP II)

The USAID V-LEEP II aims to advance the transition of Vietnam to a clean, secure, and market-based energy sector by increasing the deployment of advanced energy systems, improving energy sector performance, and increasing competition in the energy sector.

January 2020 - December 2025
Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program (V-LEEP)

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program (V-LEEP) helps the Government of Vietnam (GVN) establish an effective policy, regulatory, and incentive environment for low-emission growth in the energy sector, while simultaneously attracting public-sector and private-sector investment in renewable energy (RE) development and energy efficiency (EE).  V-LEEP promotes the development of critical building blocks to scale up clean energy, such as accessible smart incentives for clean energy and EE investments, enabling a competitive environment for RE generation, enhancing renewable power grid integration, and ensuring locational concentration of clean energy generation facilities.  Three components from V-LEEP core actvities:
(i) Low Emission Strategy Development fr the Energy Sector
(ii) Enance Capacity and Improve Enabling Environment for Renewable Energy Development
(iii) Increase Energy Efficiency Adoption and Compliance

January 2015 - December 2021
ASEAN Distributed Power Project (Phase 2)

The project involves the execution and operation of distributed and utility-scale solar, wind, biomass, waste-to-energy, gas-fired power, energy storage, and associated infrastructure in countries in the ASEAN region and other developing member countries (DMCs).

January 2017 - December 2024
Eastern Indonesia Renewable Energy Project (Phase 2)

Phase 2 of the project will construct, operate and maintain a 21 MW solar power plant in Likupang (North Sulawesi) and three 7 MW solar power plants, in Pringgabaya, Selong, and Sengkol (Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara).
The Government of Indonesia has set ambitious targets to increase the share of energy supplied from renewable energy from 12% in 2013 to 23% in 2025. Therefore, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral plans to increase the capacity of grid power generation through new and renewable energy to 45 GW by 2025. The Project contributes to the acceleration and expansion of private sector investments in clean energy infrastructure in Indonesia.

The Project supports a leading private sector player (Equis Group) in its contributions towards this goal. The concessional financing from the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in Asia II (CFPS II) was needed to assist with implementation of the first utility scale solar power projects in Indonesia and to help the project sponsors to address its first mover costs and disadvantages as well as overcome various technical and regulatory challenges.

January 2018 - December 2022
New Energy Nexus Southeast Asia (Nexus SEA)

New Energy Nexus Southeast Asia (Nexus SEA) supports entrepreneurs who are powering the thousands of businesses, technologies, and innovations needed to open up the economic and social opportunities of a clean energy future.

June 2020 - October 2021
Green Cooling Initiatives III

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of public and private actors for the green cooling approach and thereby support the transformation towards climate-friendly technologies in their countries and globally.

August 2021 - July 2024
International Hydrogen Ramp-Up Programme “H2Uppp”

H2Uppp promotes green H2/ PtX projects in developing and emerging (ODA) countries with the main objective to further develop markets for green H2/ PtX technologies through on-site cooperation.

January 2022 - December 2023
Cool Contributions Fighting Climate Change II (C4 II)

C4 aims to further pursue the international control of F-gases and improves the framework conditions for the use of energy-efficient RAC equipment and environmentally-friendly natural refrigerants and blowing agents.

June 2022 - December 2024
